Lagoonie Film Production and Film Clinic have recently revealed official trailer for the new film Ras El Sana. Marking Mohamed Hefzy's comeback to screenwriting, the film brings together a stellar cast of big-name stars and is slated to release in cinemas on March 20, 2019.
The trailer showcases a glimpse of the lives lead by the film's characters, taking us into the world of the elite. Portrayed with an unprecedented realism, we see a number of rich families in a resort nearby Hurghada during the last few hours of the year on the New Year's. As the celebrations are underway, characters from the lower classes show up, leaving one important question unanswered: what will happened when these two worlds collide during the during the ruckus of the new year?
In February, the film's teaser trailer was revealed; reaching more than 2 million views in less than 48 hours after its release. Lagoonie Film Production and Film Clinic have also unveiled seven official character posters revealing the film's major characters featuring Eyad Nassar, Ahmed Malek, Basma, Shereen Reda, Ingy El Mokadem, Huda El Mufti, and Ali Kassem.
Written by writer/producer Mohamed Hefzy, Ras El Sana is the debut film for director Sakr. Ras El Sana takes place over the course of one night in a coastal resort town where the crème de la crème celebrate the New Year in 2009. As the celebrations are underway, relationships grow more complex, and secrets are uncovered, changing the way they see themselves and those around them forever.
In addition to his rich career in film production and his work as the President of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), Mohamed Hafzy is one of the most important screenwriters of the current generation in Egyptian cinema. Ras El Sana is produced by Lagoonie Film Production, Film Clinic and distributed by New Century. The film will be marketed by MAD Solutions.
