Lagoonie Film Production presented its award to the film project Mr. Rambo by director Khaled Mansour at the CineGouna Platform, held within the 4th El Gouna Film Festival (GFF). The prize of $10,000 was given to the film to support it in its development phase.
Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is a film project about Rambo, Hassan’s dog and only friend who gets unjustly involved in a dangerous incident. He suddenly becomes hunted by the government and Karem, Hassan’s neighbor, which forces Hassan to find an unofficial secure way of exiting Rambo out of the country, and saving him from the unknown. The film is directed by Khaled Mansour and produced by Patchwork Productions.
Last year, Lagoonie's award was presented to Severed Head by director Lotfi Achour at the CineGouna SpringBoard. Lagoonie Film Production has been recently involved in many activities that support the Arab film industry. During the previous edition of the Cairo International Film Festival, Lagoonie Film Production sponsored a number of workshops, lectures and panel discussions held within the Cairo Industry Days. The company also presented a monetary award at the 2018 Final Cut in Venice workshop of the Venice International Film Festival.
